Turmeric Root Powder Alleppey

Turmeric, Curcuma longa, is a member of the Zingiberaceae family or ginger family and is closely related to cardamom, ginger and grains of paradise. Turmeric is native to the tropical South Asian region. Our Turmeric powder is sourced directly from Alleppey region of India. It has a high Curcumin content upwards of 5.5% Curcumin. Turmeric has been used in medicinal purposed in Asian cultures for centuries. It is known to have gentle anti-inflammatory properties as well. Traditionally used for curry and Indian spice blends, this yellow turmeric powder is a wonderful addition of flavor when prepared with egg dishes, vegetarian cooking, basting liquids, poultry, mustard blends, fish, beans, lentils, or sauces.
