Celery Ground can be used in variety of dishes such as briner recipes, casseroles, egg, meat and vegetable dishes, gravies, stews and tomato juice because of its distinctive grassy, slightly bitter taste. It works well in combination with salt, onion and bell peppers.
Celery ground’s principal production is in Punjab in Northwest India. Indian grown celery seeds are more flavorful and larger than Chinese seed. Celery ground is much stronger compared to seeds, for that reason too much ground celery can overpower a dish, whereas a little bit will enhance the flavors. It is a great substitute in many dishes that call for fresh celery.
